Module 2 - First Steps

The aim of module two is for delegates to be able to demonstrate knowledge of all areas surrounding Road Traffic Accident Management and Personal Injury claims, including the ability to identify and address any problems that can occur.

Objectives

By the end of this module, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify and list the issues surrounding liability and causation;
  • Understand Contributory negligence;
  • Refer to the relevant statues - e.g. Animals Act;
  • Describe the issues surrounding credit hire and credit repair;
  • Understand the role of the MIB, and know which agreement applies;
  • Identify and list the different issues arising between particular claimants;
  • Construct a letter of claim using the Pre-Action Protocol;
  • Identify and make use of all other aspects of the Pre-Action Protocol;
  • Successfully recover damages on behalf of a client.
